FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis made a furious comeback in singles action to defeat the UT Arlington Mavericks 4-3 on Thursday.

The Eagles dropped the doubles point to start the match, requiring four singles court wins to win the match.

Ninad Raut started the momentum to move towards the Green and Blue winning his match 6-2, 6-1. Hugo Magnusson gave FGCU the lead with a win on court one, three and three.

The Mavericks bounced back with two wins of their own needing only one of the remaining two courts to win with both closely contested.

After dropping his first set in a breaker, Guglielmo Stefanacci came back to win his court 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3.

All eyes turned to Pablo Paternostro on court four. Paternostro had just been pushed to a must win tiebreaker in set two which he took 7-1. He took a 5-4 lead with the Mavericks serving. The set was pushed to a decisive point which lasted over a minute before Paternostro outlasted his opponent securing the 4-3 win for the Eagles.
