FORT MYERS, Fla. – Undefeated Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball prepares for its final home game of the 2024-25 season Thursday as the Eagles host Jacksonville at 6 p.m. for American Heart Association Night. FGCU closes out the regular season Saturday at Stetson.

With a win Thursday or a Central Arkansas loss, FGCU will clinch its eighth straight ASUN regular season title, the 15th all-time in the program's history and the first under head coach Chelsea Lyles. As the No. 1 overall seed, FGCU will play each round matchup of the ASUN Tournament at Alico Arena. The First Round of the tournament is scheduled to begin Friday, March 7 at campus sites, with the Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 8.
FGCU has earned at least one vote in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll for the eighth straight week. The Eagles earned a season-high seven votes on last week's poll, but tallied just a single vote in the latest poll. However, FGCU improved one spot in the CollegeInisder.com Mid Major Top 25 Poll, bumping up to No. 8 overall. The Green and Blue have not dropped lower than No. 16 this season.
The Eagles won its 25th game last Saturday at North Alabama, fending off the upset-minded Lions after pummeling second-place Central Arkansas (20-7, 14-2) by 24 points. Only FGCU and UConn have won 25 or more games for 15 straight years. FGCU soars into Thursday with more streaks on the line.
FGCU are winners of their last 18 and a perfect 16-0 in ASUN play. The Eagles have also won 49 straight against ASUN opponents, a streak that dates back to Jan. 21, 2023. Against JU, FGCU has won 19 straight and leads the all-time series 38-3. Jacksonville has clinched a spot in the upcoming ASUN Tournament, swimming in a tie for fifth place at 14-14 overall and 8-8 in the ASUN.
Looking ahead to Saturday at Stetson (15-13, 9-7), FGCU aims to register back-to-back undefeated seasons in conference play for the first time since the 2015-16 season. With a win in DeLand, FGCU will record its eighth perfect season in the ASUN. The Hatters are currently tied for fourth in the league standings.
