Dallion Johnson registered a game high 24 points but it was not enough as Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball fell 73-60 at the F&M Bank Arena Thursday in Clarksville Tennessee.
The Eagles have already secured a spot in the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament but fell from first place to third alongside EKU and Queens.

The Governors started hot, earning a 26-12 lead at the 9:56 mark. The Eagles eventually settled in and Johnson led the charge with 11 points as FGCU went on an 18-11 run to cut the deficit to seven points. Austin Peay headed to the locker room with a 37-30 advantage.
The Green and Blue came out of the second half and released a mini 9-6 rally featuring four points by
Michael Duax to trail 43-39. This would be the closest the Eagles would get to the Governors during the game. FGCU's moment of hope turned quickly in APSU's favor as the Governors rattled off 28 points to the Eagels' 10 to take a 71-49 advantage with 5:24 left to play.
FGCU still continued pressing on, delivering a 9-0 run that featured a Johnson three pointer with attempts to slow the Governors offense. The Green and Blue cut the deficit to 71-58 but they would run out of time and APSU sealed the upset victory.Â

- With Thursday's loss FGCU fell to 14-12 overall and 9-4 in the ASUN.
- FGCU was 9-for-11 at the charity stripe.
