Biography

Before FGCU
At SMU June Bjork recorded eight singles victories during her freshman season, competing primarily in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions. She opened the spring season with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Eva Arranz from Abilene Christian and earned additional singles wins at the ITA Texas Regionals and the Jae Foundation Fall Open hosted by TCU, including victories over UT-Arlington’s Ioana Dumitrescu and Maryland’s Kathrine Hung. Bjork also went 2-1 at the Wildcat Invitational, winning her flight, and finished the fall singles slate with a 4-7 record.

In doubles, Bjork paired with Caroline McGinley in the spring, and Millie Skelton in the fall, finishing the season with a 10-8 overall record. She achieved a perfect 4-0 record in doubles alongside Skelton in the fall and started the fall slate 5-0. Highlights included ranked victories over top teams at Vanderbilt and competitive showings against highly ranked opponents, showcasing Bjork’s consistency, teamwork, and net play throughout her freshman campaign.

June Bjork hails to the Hilltop from Sweden ... Bjork brings tons of experience in the junior circuits, ranking as high as 217 in the ITF Junior rankings in her career ... She also has a WTA Doubles career-high ranking of 663 and a WTA Singles career-high ranking of 1254 ... Her favorite moment was representing Chile in the Billie Jean King Cup 2023.
