Koehler earns final ASUN Player of the Week award

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Barbara Koehler earned the final Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week award Monday after leading Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball to road wins over Stetson, Jacksonville and North Florida to close the regular season. Koehler finished the week with 51 kills, 24 digs and seven total blocks.

Against Stetson on Wednesday, she posted a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs along with two blocks in FGCU's 3–1 victory. The Green & Blue also set a new program record with 72 kills in four sets.

On Friday at Jacksonville, she recorded 17 kills on 35 attacks (.371) with seven digs and three blocks as the Eagles earned another 3–1 win.

One day later, in the regular season finale at North Florida, Koehler delivered a career-high 20 kills on 35 swings (.543), along with five digs and two blocks, to help FGCU sweep UNF 3–0 and secure the ASUN Regular Season Championship.

Koehler and the Eagles open their postseason run Thursday at 7 p.m. in Alico Arena, hosting No. 8 seed UNF in the ASUN Championship quarterfinals.
