FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's basketball head coach
Pat Chambers announced the addition of three signees on Thursday.
"The 2026 recruiting class features three young men who embody the culture we've built here at FGCU," Chambers said. "Each of them values the campus community, embraces hard work, and is eager to contribute to our continued success. They will each elevate our program in their own unique way."
Trace Westercamp | 6'9 | F | The Rock | Austin Rivers SE Elite | Jacksonville, Fla.
Westercamp comes to FGCU from The Rock HS. He played in the state championship game as a junior, and plays club for coach Albert Settles at Austin Rivers SE Elite. Westercamp was ranked the No. 31 player in Florida and No. 2 power forward by Prep Hoops. He was also named to The Battle on the Island All-Tournament Team.
"Trace Westercamp is a 6'9" sharpshooter who has continued to add toughness and strength to his game. Trace is highly skilled offensively and uses his length to defend multiple positions. We're excited to welcome a talented Florida native to our program."
The son of Jay and Kellie Westercamp, Trace has one sibling, Jayden. Westercamp committed to FGCU over USF, Boston U, Jacksonville, Stetson and Oral Roberts.
Lawrence "Turk" Brown III | 6'0 | G | Paul VI Catholic HS | Team Takeover | Baltimore, Md.
Brown III joins FGCU from Paul VI Catholic HS in Baltimore, Md. The starting point guard for head coach Glenn Farello, Turk averaged eight points and four assists per game on 43% shooting from 3-point range. Paul VI finished the 2024-25 season ranked No. 10 in the country, and won the WCAC conference championship (known as one of the best high school basketball conferences in the nation). He tallied an All-Conference Honorable Mention nod as a junior, and he and Paul VI were tabbed the No. 6 team in the national preseason rankings.
"Turk Brown is a pure point guard who led one of the top high school programs in the country last season. He plays with exceptional pace and poise, and thrives on creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. Turk's leadership, experience, and ability to control the game will greatly impact our program."
The son of Lawrence Brown Jr. and Eboni Jones, Turk's sister, Jalyn Brown, plays basketball at Michigan State.
Kingston Wheatley | 6'7 | F | West Catholic Prep | Team Final | Blackwood, N.J.
Wheatley comes to FGCU from West Catholic Prep in Philadelphia, Pa.. He was named to the Philadelphia Catholic League Second Team All Conference in 2024-25 while averaging 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks per game. He was also named Second Team All-State in 2024-25.
"Kingston Wheatley is a tough, athletic combo forward who brings tremendous versatility on the defensive end. Offensively, he plays with great skill and aggressiveness. Coming off a state championship, Kingston is a proven winner and a great teammate who will do whatever it takes to help his team succeed."
The son of Deloria Satchel, Wheatley plays club for coach Nate Hodge at Team Final.
