FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast beach volleyball head coach
Chris Sweat announced the addition of three signees on Thursday.
"Each year, the athletes that we have coming in bring more and more to the table as the game of beach volleyball continues to be the fastest growing women's sport in the country," Sweat said. "The three that we have in our 2025 class are certainly no exception.
"Cora, Kierstin and Keira have all shown the skill, passion, ability and determination to play at the next level. All three of them are amazing people who are going to be amazing teammates with our current roster. I'm extremely excited for the future of FGCU beach volleyball."
Kierstin Anderson | 5'8 | Keller HS | 692 BEACH National Team | Keller, Texas
Anderson spent three years with coach Chuck Brewer and the 692 BEACH National Team from 2023-2025. A 692 BEACH National Open Team Captain, she is a AAA (Triple A) nationally rated beach player and a top 50 ranked player in the US. She was named to the 2024 Junior Volleyball Association Beach Watch List.
Anderson has won several tournaments, including the Houston BVCA Open Championship, the 2025 Austin BVCA Open Championship and the 2025 Clearwater Beach College Showcase Open Championship. Anderson is a three time qualifier for AVP, BVCA, USAV, AAU, and BVNE National Championships.
The daughter of Leanne and Kevin Anderson, Kierstin has three siblings, Austin, Chase and Jackson. Her father, Kevin, played volleyball at Loyola Marymount and Rutgers. Born on Sept. 24, Anderson plans to major in business at FGCU.
Cora Darling | 6'0 | Homeschool | Vero Beach Volleyball | Vero Beach, Fla.
Darling played for coach Matt Heath at Vero Beach Volleyball. She won the Ron Jon Beach n' Boards Tournament with Vero Beach, and advanced to states in back-to-back seasons.
The daughter of Katie and Raymond S. Darling, Cora has two siblings, Raymond E. and Maylin. Her father swam in college for the University of Hawaii and her aunt swam in college at SMU. Born on July 5, Darling plans to major in business at FGCU.
Keira Gallegos | 5'9 | McKinney HS | Madsand | McKinney, Texas
Gallegos played at McKinney HS for coach Kristi Hager and played club at Madsand for coach Meghan Lindsey. She was named first-team all district in 2023-24 and has tallied over 2,500 career assists. She has made both the JVA and ACVA watchlists.
A four-time academic all district honoree, Gallegos collected a bevy of academic recognitions in high school, including membership in National Honor Society, a Red Cord (above 3.5 GPA freshman year), a Silver Cord (above 3.5 GPA sophomore year) and a Black Cord (above 3.5 GPA junior year).
The daughter of Nick and Elysse Gallegos, Keira has two siblings, Mikah and Donovan. Born on Aug. 9, Gallegos plans to major in business at FGCU.
