FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University Director of Athletics Colin Hargis has announced a contract extension for FGCU beach volleyball head coach Chris Sweat.

Chris Sweat saw his contract extended by three years. Sweat was the 2025 & 2022 ASUN Coach of the Year and has twice led the Eagles to the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament finals. He has two 20-win seasons at FGCU, including a school-record 29 victories in 2022.  

"We are thrilled to extend the contract of Chris Sweat," Hargis said. "Sweat, along with his entire coaching staff, demonstrates incredible leadership, dedication to student-athlete development, and commitment to FGCU's values, which makes each of them integral to our continued success."
