FORT MYERS, Fla. - As the pivotal mid-season invite approaches, the Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving team will head to Houston to compete in the Phill Hansel Invitational, taking place Wednesday through Friday. The Eagles will face strong competition from Houston, Rice, New Mexico State, New Mexico, Nevada, Air Force, San Jose State, Colorado State, Tulane, and Vanderbilt.
Last year's mid-season results saw Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving finish the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston on Friday in fifth place with 792 points. Over the three-day meet, the Eagles posted two NCAA B cuts and one zone qualifying dive.

The Phill Hansel Invitational serves as a major season benchmark, bringing together elite programs from across the country. For many swimmers, it marks one of the fastest and most competitive meets of the year.
The team had an outstanding meet at the Eagle Invite, showcasing strong performances across the board. Highlighted by multiple wins and record-breaking performances.
Izzy Ackley won the 100 fly, 100 IM, and 200 back, setting new school records in the 100 IM and 200 back.
Cassie Bauer won the 100 breast and placed second in the 100 IM, while
Leah Gentry-Tuney claimed the 100 free.
Aislyn Barnett earned victories in the 1650 free and 200 breast, both among the top 10 times in school history.
Following the mid-season invite, the Eagles will be back at the nest on December 31st to take on Delaware and SMU at the Eagle Winter Invite, starting at 2 p.m.
