FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast women's soccer returns to Fort Myers for its final homestand of the 2025 regular season.
The Eagles continue the second half of the Graphite Division home-and-home against West Georgia on Thursday. The first time out, FGCU took a 4-0 win over the Wolves behind a brace from senior midfielder
Erika Zschuppe and scores from
Lauren Dwyer and
Sophia Holtzmann.
Zschuppe is on a senior season tear. The Kirtland, Ohio, product leads the NCAA with 17 goals on the season. Zschuppe's scores on the week gave her seven consecutive games with a goal dating back to Sept. 11. That mark is the longest active goal scoring streak in the NCAA this season after Notre Dame's Izzy Engle's goal scoring streak came to an end at six games on Sunday.
Engle (13), Colorado's Hope Leyba (14) and Duquesne's Maya Matesa (12) are the only other players in the country with more than 11 goals in 2025. Zschuppe also leads the country in total points with 34, although her margin is slightly slimmer in that category. Engle and Xavier's Samantha Erbach each have 31; Leyba and Tulsa's Jordan Frederick follow with 29 apiece.
The most consecutive games with a goal in FGCU women's soccer history belongs to Tabby Tindell, who also holds the program record for goals and goals in a single season. Tindell netted a goal in ten consecutive outings in 2016. Zschuppe's seven straight games with a goal is the second longest streak in Eagles' women's soccer history.
Zschuppe is also within striking distance of Tindell's single-season program record for goals (20) with three regular season games and the ASUN Tournament still to play.
After tying with Jacksonville on Sunday, the Eagles control their own destiny in the Graphite Division standings, holding the tiebreakers over the Dolphins and third place North Florida.
Lipscomb leads the Gold Division with 19 points and became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2025 ASUN Championship. The full standings can be viewed
