FORT MYERS, Fla. -
Ian Farrow earned another award to put a cap on his stellar college baseball career as the Florida Gulf Coast University senior was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-America Second Team. The award was announced Friday morning.
"We're so happy that the All-America committee recognized Ian," said FGCU head coach
Dave Tollett. "Ian has represented FGCU so well on and off the field. He's a tremendous player and he's so deserving of this award."
Farrow, from Merritt Island, earned First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors as well as First Team ABCA All-Region honors this season. He started his season with homers in all three games of a series at TCU. Seven games later, he started a streak of four games with a homer, including the final two games of a series against Xavier. He would finish the season with 15 homers and a team-leading .375 batting average. His 23 multi-hit games were the most for an FGCU player this season. Farrow wrapped up his career on a 32-game streak of games reaching base safely.
This marks the third year in a row that an FGCU hitter has been named to an All-America list. In 2023,
Edrick Felix,
Alejandro Figueredo, and
Joe Kinker each earned status from the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). In 2022,
Harrison Povey earned Freshman All-American status from the NCBWA and Figueredo was named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
