FORT MYERS, Fla. - After taking two out of three as part of the FGCU MTE last weekend, Florida Gulf Coast University will look to keep the positive momentum going as the Eagles face FAU in Boca Raton Saturday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

The Eagles (2-5) were able to grind out a 60-59 victory over FIU last Sunday to close out the MTE. Jevin Muniz drove to the hole for a crucial three-point play late in the game, then Michael Duax made the game-winning free throw to put FGCU out in front. The final shot for the Panthers bounced off the iron into the waiting hands of Dallion Johnson, who held the ball as the horn sounded to give the Eagles the win.

Zavian McLean had strong outings in the MTE. The transfer from Columbia scored 18 in the win over FIU. In FGCU's win over Cal State Bakersfield, McLean added a dozen. Johnson also had a pair of big games for FGCU in the MTE, beginning with the senior scoring a career-best 25 against Bakersfield, draining seven 3-pointers in the process. He would follow that up with 18 one day later against Northeastern.

FGCU will be facing a team looking for a measure of revenge after last season's contest in Alico Arena. In that game, FAU came in as the No. 7 team in the country, but would exit with a 72-68 loss after Johnson's 3-pointer in the final 80 seconds broke a 68-all tie.

FAU is 4-4 on the season, but both the Eagles and the Owls have a common opponent. The Eagles dropped a 63-61 decision at Drake this season, while FAU lost on a neutral court to Drake 75-63.
