FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's soccer seeks its 11th Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title Saturday, hosting Stetson at 5 p.m. at Pickering Field for Senior Day. The match will be streamed on ESPN+. Arrive early for a pregame ceremony commemorating the nine seniors of the 2024 graduating class.
For tickets, purchase online HERE or at the gate. Single-game tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for military and youth (ages 4-12). For groups of 10 or more, tickets start at $6. FGCU students, faculty and staff are free with a valid Eagle I.D.
FGCU must win or tie on Saturday to clinch the ASUN's regular season crown. The Eagles could also clinch well before Saturday's kickoff if second-place Central Arkansas drops its match at North Alabama. The UCA-UNA match starts at 2 p.m.
As the potential No. 1 overall seed, FGCU could earn a double-bye and host the ASUN Tournament Semifinals and the Championship match at Pickering Field. The semifinals are Thursday, Nov. 7, with the championship set for Sunday, Nov. 10.
The 2024 regular season title would be the first in three years for 18th-year head coach Jim Blankenship, the first since an East Division crown back in 2021. FGCU has won either the ASUN regular season or tournament title in 12 out of the last 14 seasons and seeks its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The Eagles (9-5-2, 8-1-1 ASUN) can climb into the double-digit win column on Saturday as well. Blankenship has guided FGCU to 10 or more wins in 16 of his 17 seasons with the Green and Blue.
A familiar face will be on the Stetson (8-10, 3-7 ASUN) sidelines Saturday. Jamie Souza, a former 2023 FGCU assistant coach, leads the Hatters into Fort Myers for the first time. In the overall series, FGCU is 17-1-1 when facing Stetson dating back to 2007, having won the last seven meetings. FGCU has won or tied the Hatters in the previous 18 tries. Stetson's lone win in the series occurred in the first-ever meeting, some 17 years ago.
Only seven of the eight spots in the ASUN Tournament field have been filled. Stetson has an opportunity to be the last team to qualify on Saturday, but the Hatters have struggled on the road in conference play – possessing a 0-5 record.
Sophomore and ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week Olivia Molina is 12 saves away from breaking the program's single-season save record of 117, a record she set as a freshman just a season ago.
