FORT MYERS, Fla. – The No. 26 FGCU women's basketball team (22-3 overall, 10-1 ASUN Conference) returns home Wednesday to host Stetson (11-13, 5-6) at Alico Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., with the action available to view on ESPN+.

FGCU has won 18 of its last 20 games – including a 106-51 victory Saturday afternoon at North Florida that consisted of a season-high 22 3-pointers, the most in a single game in the nation this season. The victory clinched a berth in the 2023 ASUN Tournament, making the Green & Blue the first team to lock up a spot in the postseason.

The Eagles lead the ASUN standings by a full game over Austin Peay, Liberty and Lipscomb – which are each 9-2 in conference play.

The Hatters are coming off 57-48 victory at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Jaelyn Talley scored a team-high 18 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Senior guard Jamiya Turner leads Stetson with 12.3 points per game, and senior guard Kiya Turner is the Hatters' top rebounder at 5.1 rebounds per outing.

Wednesday's game will be the 37th meeting between the Eagles and the Hatters, with FGCU leading the series 31-5. The Green & Blue recorded an 82-67 victory over Stetson on March 9, 2022, during the ASUN Tournament semifinals at Alico Arena for their last matchup.

FGCU's victory over the Ospreys on Saturday was the 10th time out of 22 wins this season that the Green & Blue scored 85 or more points – and its first time eclipsing 100 points in 2022-23. The 106 points was just three shy of the single-game school record.

Graduate guard Sha Carter (Southfield. Mich./Wylie E. Groves HS/Walsh) led the team with a game-high 23 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds to go with two assists – her third time scoring 20 or more points and her 16th double-digit game of the season.

Redshirt junior guard Brylee Bartram (Tampa, Fla/ Seffner Christian Academy/ Florida/ Vanderbilt) tied her season-best with 21 points (Ave Maria, Dec. 4) by draining seven triples – which was also just one shy of FGCU's single-game record. Bartram also pulled down two boards and chipped in three assists in her first career FGCU start.

Graduate guard Tishara Morehouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King HS/Nebraska CC) scored 19 points and dealt a career-high 10 assists for her first career double-double. Saturday marked Morehouse's 21st double-digit game of the season. Redshirt junior guard Alyza Winston (Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon HS/Mississippi State) added 10 points, grabbed two boards and chipped in two assists.

Morehouse leads the Eagles this season with 16.4 points per game, which ranks second in the ASUN. Winston adds 13.7 points per outing, and Carter adds 12.1 points per game.

Carter leads FGCU in rebounds with 5.3 per game. Graduate guard Emma List (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus/Albany) leads the team with 107 assists, and Morehouse is close behind with 102. Morehouse also leads the Green & Blue with 52 3-pointers, with Winston close behind with 44 triples.

After Wednesday's game, the Eagles will head to Stetson for a 1 p.m. Saturday. The Green & Blue have now hit 293 3-pointers, for an average of 11.7 treys per game – the highest total and per-game average in the country. FGCU has nearly tripled their opponents' treys total, allowing only 104 this season. FGCU's run to its 2021-22 national ranking was due to the Eagles' continued dominance behind the 3-point arc. The Eagles have led the nation in made threes per game the past three years and in four of the last five seasons -- with an NCAA single-season record total 431 in 2017-18.
Entering this season, the Eagles were selected by both the coaches and the media to repeat as ASUN champions. FGCU is currently ranked No. 4 in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Eagles finished with a program-best-ever No. 20 ranking in 2021-22 and have four Top 25 finishes in the past five seasons. Further, only the Green & Blue and defending national champion South Carolina have won at least 30 games in five of the last eight campaigns.
