FORT MYERS, Fla. – Erika Zschuppe and Olivia Molina from Florida Gulf Coast University women's soccer emerged on TopDrawerScoccer's Top 100 lists.
"[These are] outstanding achievements and [the listing] truly caps off a fantastic season for them both," head coach Jim Blankenship said.
Zschuppe is slotted as the No. 86 ranked player in the country, while Molina came in as No. 61 overall for the Top 100 Freshman. Zschuppe and Molina played a major role in FGCU's 2023 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Championship winning season, guiding the program to its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance.
Zschuppe pulled off a hat trick in a come-from-behind win over North Alabama in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Championship match to propel herself to ASUN Tournament MVP status. Zschuppe became the just the sixth player in FGCU history to record a hat trick.
The First Team All-ASUN selection started in all 22 matches for the Eagles and produced a team-leading 10 goals, three of which were game-winners and one landed on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the day.
Zschuppe's 10 goals on the year ranked second across the conference as she was one of only two in the ASUN to score double-digit goals. The sophomore midfielder also added a team-leading eight assists, and her 28 points throughout the campaign paced the ASUN.
Molina broke the FGCU single-season save record, snagging 117 on the year. Her save total placed second across the ASUN and No. 29 nationally.
Molina rose to No. 67 overall on the midseason freshman list and climbed up six spots in the final TDS rankings. She produced 10 shutouts between the pipes, seven in conference play, and kept No. 2 seed Texas Tech scoreless for 78 minutes with eight saves in a NCAA First Round battle in Lubbock, Texas.
The ASUN All-Freshman Team selection recorded a season-high 12 saves against South Florida and her .889 save percentage placed in the top 10 in the country.
