FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's tennis posted strong performances against Purdue University Saturday on the second day of the Bonita Bay Classic.
 
Madeleine Joffe won her match with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 showing over Tara Katarina Milic. Fanny Norin won her first set 7-6 before falling 6-2, 10-8 to Csilla Fodor.
 
The Boilermakers won all the doubles matches against the Eagles to start the day.
 
"Purdue is a very solid team and we were challenged a lot by them today," said head coach Courtney Vernon. "Today was another great opportunity to compete, and we are very grateful to play one more time tomorrow against Memphis. We will keep building on our energy and fighting spirit."
 
FGCU will be back in action Sunday for the final day of the Bonita Bay Classic as the Eagles are scheduled to face off against University of Memphis starting at 12:30 p.m.
