CORAL GABLES, Fla. --- The FGCU baseball team (22-14) will head across Alligator Alley on Tuesday to Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field for a midweek matchup against Miami (22-13) at 6 p.m.

The game, which is one of four for ASUN teams against Power 5 competition on Tuesday, is a makeup from last Wednesday's rainout. The Hurricanes, who are ranked 21st in the latest RPI, are 2-0 against the Eagles this year with the series most recently featuring a walk-off win for Miami in the bottom of the ninth on April 14.

Aside from FGCU's matchup, the ASUN slate will also see Liberty head to Virginia while Stetson plays at Florida State and Lipscomb takes on Tennessee.

Last Time Out
The Green and Blue are coming off losing two out of three in a home series against Stetson over the weekend despite four-hit performances from Alejandro Figueredo and Ian Farrow. As a team, FGCU managed just four extra base hits and scored nine of their 11 runs over two innings.

Figueredo went 4-for-4 in a 4-3 win for the Eagles on Friday night where he not only had the game-tying three-run double in the sixth, but also scored the game-winning run. On Sunday, Farrow went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer as FGCU scored all five of its runs in the first inning. In all, the trio of Figueredo, Farrow and Stephen Wilmer combined to go 16-for-37 with seven runs, two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI. They compiled all of the team's extra bases hits and all had all but two of the team's runs batted in.

On the mound, Mason Studstill threw a season-high 129 pitches over eight innings on Friday night to pick up the win. Tyler Shuck went 4.2 innings on Saturday in relief, allowing just one hit, one unearned run and two walks with three strikeouts. On Sunday, Hunter McGarry kept the game close by tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Under The Lights
Richie Garcia is hitting a team-best .400 in night games this year with five doubles, two home runs and 15 RBI over 14 such games. In fact, his average is .141 higher under the lights this year.

Going Streaking
Stephen Wilmer is currently on an 11-game hitting streak. Should he extend it on Tuesday, he will tie Brian Ellis, who hit in 12 straight from March 5-26, for the longest on the team this year. Those two, along with Garcia (10), have each compiled a double-digit streak this year. The next closest current stretch is held by Alejandro Figueredo, who has hits in four straight.

Leadoff King
Brian Ellis is having a monster season from the leadoff spot for the Eagles this year as the redshirt junior is hitting a team and career-best .377 with 37 runs, six doubles and 26 RBI. He has also drawn 25 walks and been hit by the pitch nine times for a .494 on base percentage. In fact, he reached base a team-best 19 straight games earlier this year and his current 11-game streak is tied with Stephen Wilmer and Joe Kinker for the longest on the team. With the stick, he has a team-best 18 multi-hit games with a trio of three-hit efforts and a four-hit outburst on his record. He's also tied for second on the team with seven multi-RBI efforts and his career .491 on base percentage is currently the best in the program's Division I era and just shy of the program's all-time record (.493, Chris Brown, 2003-04).

Rare Breed
Richie Garcia (220) and Marc Coffers (200) are just the third pair of FGCU teammates to have played in at least 200 games on the same roster, joining the 2011 duo of Mikel Alvarez (214) and Stephen Wickens (205) and the 2017 duo of Nick Rivera (250) and Gage Morey (234). In fact, only seven Eagles have played in 200 career games.

Approaching History
Several Eagles are moving up the charts among the program's all-time leaders, led by Richie Garcia, who sits among the top 10 in starts, runs, hits, doubles, home runs and walks.

Marc Coffers needs one run to move into sole possession of eighth-place and four more to move into seventh. Mason Studstill sports the lowest opponent batting average (.188), the third lowest earned run average (2.61) and the ninth-most strikeouts per nine innings (10.01). On top of that, he has the seventh-most strikeouts all-time and sits just 34 shy of moving into sole possession of fifth place. Hunter McGarry is three saves shy of sole possession of the program's all-time record.

Additionally, in just nine seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had a combined 40 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. Eight FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport - including women's basketball (No. 21, 2020-21), beach volleyball (No. 20, 2021) and both men's soccer (2018, 2019) and women's soccer (2018) as three of the most recent. In 2016-17, the Green and Blue posted a department-best sixth-place finish in the DI-AAA Learfield Directors' Cup and top-100 showing nationally, ahead of several Power-5 and FBS institutions. In 2018-19, the Eagles had an ASUN and state of Florida best seven teams earn the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for their Academic Progress Rate in their sport. The Eagles also served an all-time high 7,200 volunteer hours in 2017 - being recognized as one of two runners-up for the inaugural NACDA Community Service Award presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
