The Eagles are coming off a split weekend at Lipscomb last Friday and Saturday where FGCU picked up its first ASUN win of the year in the first game of the series.
Cyrus Largie (Miramar, Fla./Mater Lakes Academy) was sensational with a pair of career-best 22-point games.Â
Zach Anderson (Orlando, Fla./Apopka HS) also had a standout weekend averaging 10.0 rebounds, four points, one block and one assist per game. He had a career-high 12 rebounds in Friday's win, while adding a team-high eight on Saturday.
Caleb Catto (Cape Coral, Fla./Southwest Florida Christian Academy)Â has been one of the top players in the ASUN this year averaging a team-best 14.7 points per night. Largie continues his walk-on to scholarship player story line averaging 13.3 points and 6.2 rebounds, while
Jalen Warren (Milton, Ontario/Eastern Florida State) rounds out the top scorers with 11.4 points per game.
Dakota Rivers (Windermere, Fla./Windermere HS) has been a force on the defensive end leading the league in blocks per game (1.64), while
Luis Rolon (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Central Pointe Christian Academy) is the league leader and ranks among the top 20 nationally in steals (2.44) and leads the ASUN in assists (4.9).
Friday's game is the 31st in the history between the Eagles and the Hatters, which favors FGCU 21-9. In the past four games between the sides, the results are split. Each program won one of their two meetings in both 2019 and 2020. Since FGCU's first outing against Stetson in 2008, the team has averaged 76 points per game when taking on the Hatters.
Stetson is coming off a pair of loses to Bellarmine last weekend. The Knights won Friday's meeting, 67-62, and Saturday's contest, 76-65. Overall, the Hatters have lost four of their last six, but do have a win against both North Alabama and Liberty in their series with those schools. Chase Johnston leads Stetson with 13.4 points, while Rob Perry and Christiaan Jones are also averaging double figures at 12.8 and 10.6 points per night, respectively.

ABOUT FGCU
FGCU teams have combined to win an incredible 82 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 13 seasons at the Division I level. Additionally, in just nine seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had a combined 38 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. Seven FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport – including women's basketball (No. 24, 2019-20) and both men's soccer (2018, 2019) and women's soccer (2018) as three of the most recent. In 2016-17, the Green and Blue posted a department-best sixth-place finish in the DI-AAA Learfield Directors' Cup and top-100 showing nationally, ahead of several Power-5 and FBS institutions. In 2018-19, the Eagles had an ASUN and state of Florida best seven teams earn the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for their Academic Progress Rate (APR) in their sport and have had the highest percentage of teams so honored from these two groups over each of the past three years. FGCU also collectively earned a record 3.46 GPA in the classroom in the spring 2020 semester and has outperformed the general University undergraduate population for 22 consecutive semesters. The 2019 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters each saw another milestone reached as all 15 programs achieved a 3.0-or-higher team GPA. The Eagles also served an all-time high 7,200 volunteer hours in 2017 – being recognized as one of two runners-up for the inaugural NACDA Community Service Award presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
