Kate Kelly (Cape Coral, FL./Seminole State College) leads the team in hits (44), batting average (.373) and stolen bases (17). Fournet is the Eagles' second .300 plus hitter, owning a .313 BA and leads the team in RBI (24).
In the circle, Randolph has collected 15 wins in 22 starts, holding opposing batters to a .189 BA. She is currently tied for 21st in the nation in shutouts (six), 13th in ERA (1.14), and tied for 18th in strikeouts (178). Sophomore
Marissa Mesiemore (Bushnell, FL./South Sumter HS) is 8-4 with a 1.89 ERA in 18 appearances.
The pitching staff as a whole has combined to post a 1.86 ERA which sits 15th in the country.
RPI Watch
Heading into the weekend the ASUN has four teams represented in the top-100 of the RPI standings. Liberty (48) and Lipscomb (49) are right behind on another while FGCU (67) and UNF (94) round out the list. The Eagles own a win over No. 18 Minnesota (ranked No. 15 at the time) who hold a No. 9 RPI ranking.

ASUN Championship
FGCU will play host to the 2019 ASUN Softball Championship Wednesday-Saturday, May 8-11. This will mark the third time FGCU will serve as hosts for the tournament, the first time coming back in 2015. The winner of the event will earn the ASUN's automatic bid into the NCAA Championship tournament. Game times will be announced at a later date but tickets can be purchased
here.

Senior Dominica Cocuzza leads the Ospreys in hitting with a .386 BA as she's driven in a team-best 32 runners while senior Tiffany Lower has posted 20 RBI. Senior Navia Penrod, who is second on the team in batting average (.364) leads the team with 11 stolen bases.
In the circle, UNF has thrown four pitchers as they've combined for a 3.02 ERA. Redshirt senior Sydney Matzko is 11-9 overall with a team-low 2.55 ERA in 27 outings.

COACH DEIROS
The founding father of FGCU softball, David Deiros is in his 17th season as head coach. Hired in 2001 to build the program from the dirt up, Deiros has since guided the Eagles to a Eagles to a 634-330-3 (.657), going 148-87 (.623) in the ASUN, having 13 seasons with a winning record, and nine campaigns with 35 wins. Deiros is a former head coach at the 1998 Florida State Runner-up Lely High School in Naples and is the founding head coach of the 1999 District Champion/2001 Regional Runner-up Gulf Coast High School in Naples.

ABOUT FGCU
FGCU teams have combined to win an incredible 75 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 11+ seasons at the Division-I level. Additionally, in just seven+ seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had a combined 35 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. Seven FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport – including both men's and women's soccer again in 2018. In 2016-17, the Green and Blue posted a department-best 6th-place finish in the DI-AAA Learfield Directors' Cup and top-100 showing nationally, ahead of several Power-5 and FBS institutions. FGCU also collectively earned a record 3.35 GPA in the classroom in the Spring, 2018 and had an ASUN Conference and State of Florida best five teams earn the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for their Academic Progress Rate in their sport. The Eagles also served an all-time high 7,200 volunteer hours – being recognized as one of two runner-ups for the inaugural NACDA Community Service Award presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
