SERIES HISTORY VS. UNF
•    Friday's game will be the 41st meeting between the two teams. FGCU currently holds a 22-18 advantage in the series.
•    The Ospreys have won six of the last eight games, including a three-game sweep at Swanson Stadium last season.
•    The Eagles' most recent victory was a 4-0 shutout over UNF in the first round of the 2017 ASUN Baseball Championship in DeLand. The Green and Blue went on to win the title that year.
•    FGCU owns a 9-6 record at the Ospreys' Harmon Stadium.
SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
•    UNF (14-9) is coming off a 7-2 victory over in-state opponent USF at Harmon Stadium. Last weekend, the Ospreys split a series with the Columbia Lions 2-2.
•    Like FGCU, UNF also picked up a midweek win against No. 5 Florida in Gainesville. The Ospreys downed the Gators 7-1.
•    The most runs that the Ospreys have scored in a victory is 11 and they have yet to be shutout this season.
•    UNF leads the ASUN in doubles (42) and walks (111). The team's 217 hits are good for second. Â
•    Senior Jay Prather leads the team with a .400 batting average, good for third in the league. The infielder has cranked out seven doubles and two home runs.
•    Redshirt junior Eddie Miller's five saves are the second-most in the conference. The southpaw has a 0.00 ERA through 18.2 innings of work.
•    Last year, the Ospreys went 28-28 overall, finishing with a 10-11 mark in conference play. UNF hosted the 2018 ASUN Baseball Championship and was knocked off by No. 1 Stetson in the championship game.
CLIMBING THE RANKS
•    Freshman
Joe Kinker (Northport, FL/Venice HS) is off to a hot start in his debut campaign as an Eagle. He ranks sixth in the nation, the highest of any freshman, in both batting average (.462) and on-base percentage (.576).
•    FGCU has three players that rank in the top 10 of the league's batting average. Kinker sits at the top of the ASUN, senior
Jay Hayes (.394) (Altamonte Springs, FL/Lyman HS) ranks fourth and junior
Alex Brait (.368) (Viera, FL/Viera HS) holds steady at seventh. Â
•    Hayes' 25 RBIs are the most of any other player in the ASUN. He and Kinker have notched four home runs apiece, the second-most in the conference.
•    As a team, FGCU is third in the nation and first in the league in hit by pitch. The Eagles have been hit 46 times. Stetson is second in the conference and has been hit 30 times.
•    Junior
Mason Studstill (Titusville, FL/Rockledge HS/Eastern Florida State) is second in the ASUN with 42 strikeouts this season. He has posted three double-digit strikeout efforts so far.

Tyler Shuck (1.29) (Cape Coral, FL/Canterbury HS), Studstill (1.57), senior
Evan Lumbert (1.88) (Orlando, FL/Boone HS/South Florida State) and sophomore
Nikolas Bitner (2.42) (Palm Coast, FL/Flagler Palm Coast HS/Indian River) rank second, third, fifth and seventh, respectively.
•    Shuck's three victories are the second-most of any pitcher in the ASUN so far this season.
LAST TIME OUT
•    FGCU grabbed its fifth series win of the season when it took down Rutgers at Swanson Stadium last weekend.
•    The Eagles won the first two games before dropping the series finale.
•    Friday's 4-1 victory was highlighted by a walk off three-run homer off the bat of Kinker in the bottom of the 11th inning.
•    On Saturday, the Green and Blue's offense cruised to a decisive 11-3 win over the Scarlet Knights. Brait led the effort, finishing the day 4-5 with two RBIs and one run.
•    Bitner tossed six scoreless innings of relief during Sunday's 4-1 loss and struck out a career-high six batters, but FGCU struggled to get its offense going.
2019 SCHEDULE
•    The Eagles have begun their 55-game campaign with a bang, opening the year playing each of their first 11 games in the friendly confines of Swanson Stadium.
•    On top of games with Ohio State and Florida, the Green and Blue will play a total of nine times against programs from Power 5 universities (ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC), which includes this weekend's series against Rutgers.
•    FGCU is billed to play 36 home games and 19 contests on the road. Additional notable non-conference home games include dates with Rutgers (March 15-17), FAU (March 19), FIU (March 26) and Miami (April 10).
•    The first ASUN Conference action will be a three-game home series against UNF March 22-24. •    FGCU will compete 16 times against programs who have played in the NCAA Championship tournament at least once over the last two years. The mark includes a Florida squad that won the national championship two years ago and advanced to the 2018 College World Series. FGCU will also grace a Stetson program (May 3-5) that hosted an NCAA Regional last year and advanced to a Super Regional.
•    The 2019 ASUN Conference Championship will be held May 22-25 in Deland, Florida, and will be hosted by Stetson.

5X CHAMPS
The 2017 season was a magical one for the Green and Blue that ended in the program's first Division I NCAA Championship tournament berth. The Eagles ended the year 43-20, which included a midweek sweep over No. 2 Florida, single wins over No. 1 Florida State, Miami and a three-game sweep at UNC Wilmington. The wins over Miami, FSU and UF marked the first time FGCU defeated all three programs in the same season.
Reaching as high as No. 9 in the polls, the highest of any program at FGCU, the Eagles struggled in April but bounced back to finish third in the ASUN. During the ASUN Championship, FGCU won four games in a span of 29 hours for its first tournament crown.
The Green and Blue earned the No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional, defeating Michigan 10-6 before losses to Davidson and North Carolina ended their season. The tournament title added to FGCU's four regular season crowns.
