@FGCU_Baseball To Host Skills Prospect Camp July 23-26

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU baseball program will host the Eagle Baseball Skills Prospect Camp at Swanson Stadium July 23-26 for participants in grades six through 12.

Participants will be divided by age group and instructed in four phases of the game – hitting, pitching, catching and fielding. Campers will also enjoy games during the camp, which is designed for players to learn the game as well as develop their skills in front of the FGCU coaching staff as well as other collegiate coaches.

The camp will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, which runs Monday through Thursday. The cost is $260, and check in will occur between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. in front of the stadium.

DAVE TOLLETT
FGCU head coach Dave Tollett was named the program's head coach in August 2001. Entering his 17th season, he has compiled a 565-337-3 record and led the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. This past season, he guided the Eagles to a 32-21 record as Mario Leon became the program's first-ever ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Gage Morey was named the program's first ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and Christian Proffitt was the program's second straight and third freshman of the year selection overall.

Tollett is a four-time ASUN Coach of the Year and has guided the Green and Blue to four ASUN regular season championships (2008, 2009, 2010, 2014) and one ASUN tournament championship (2017). His teams have been ranked nationally on several occasions, including as high as No. 9 in the country in 2017. He has coached 54 All-ASUN selections, 31 draft picks, three current major leaguers, 15 current minor leaguers, four ASUN pitchers of the year, four All-Americans, three ASUN player of the year recipients, one national freshman player of the year, one national player of the year and six-time MLB All-Star - Chris Sale.
