TAMPA, Fla. – The final non-conference contests of the 2017 regular season have arrived as the FGCU softball team also begins its final stretch of a 10-game road stand. The Eagles wrap up their non-conference schedule with a doubleheader Thursday against USF in Tampa.

THE GREEN AND BLUE
The Eagles ended a 10-game losing skid Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Kennesaw State in the second game of a doubleheader.
Taylor Wade (Pace, Fla./Pace HS) allowed just five hits in a complete game shutout over the Owls. The win for Wade snapped a stretch of six games where the senior was hit with the loss, despite allowing only 13 earned runs over those six games.
Bri Innamorato (Mullica Hill, N.J./Bishop Eustace HS) provided the big blow, driving in two on her fourth home run of the season.
Sunday's finale nearly featured history as
Riley Randolph (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast HS) was perfect through four innings but rain brought an end to her outing and the game prior to the contest becoming official.
Kelsey Huff (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer HS) continues her impressive junior season, hitting .400 with six triples and 18 RBIs on the year.
Racquel Fournet (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Preparatory School) has had the bat taken out of her hands for the majority of the season, walking 31 times this season.
A LOOK AT THE BOOK
A number of Eagles have made their mark in a very short period of time. A career .368 batter through three seasons, Huff holds the highest career batting average amongst players that played their entire career at the Division I level. Overall, the junior sits fifth all-time in program history. Four spots behind Huff, Fournet's .341 average is good for tenth in the history of the program.
Fournet's 30 doubles are good for fifth all-time as well, while also sitting third in Division I history.
Randolph's 1.87 ERA puts her fifth in FGCU history, however, the left-hander holds the lowest ERA in Division I history.

SCOUTING THE BULLS
USF was a Top 25 program to begin the season but a difficult schedule dropped the Bulls from the rankings. Now 29-21 overall and 8-6 in the American, USF has won eight of its last 10 games including three-straight. Kristen Wyckoff leads the Bulls at the plate with a .423 average and 15 stolen bases. Wyckoff is also one of three Bulls that have crossed the plate 24 times. She's joined by Astin Donovan and AnaMarie Bruni to share the team lead. Donovan enters the midweek doubleheader hitting at a .342 clip with three home runs and 20 RBIs.
In the circle, Cheyenne Eggens is closing in on a 10-win season behind a 1.93 ERA. Meanwhile, Kalen McGill sits 10-6 in 2017 with a 2.75 ERA.
After winning the first two meetings in 2008, the Eagles have dropped four straight to the Bulls.
