THE GREEN AND BLUE
FGCU suffered three losses to USC Upstate last weekend, bringing the Eagles to 21-19 on the year and 3-6 in ASUN play. FGCU had chances in each of the three contests to either tie the ballgame or take the lead at various points. The big hit for the Eagles came in the opener, a three-run home run from
Racquel Fournet (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Preparatory School) that brought FGCU to within 4-3 at the time.
The Eagles had baserunners in scoring position in each of the final two games of the series, but were unable to cash in.
Kelsey Huff (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer HS) sits 10th nationally with 56 hits while also leading the Eagles with a .397 average. Fournet sits behind Huff with a .352 average.
Riley Randolph (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast HS) suffered two losses but maintains a solid 2.46 ERA with three shutouts to her name.
A LOOK AT THE BOOK
A number of Eagles have made their mark in a very short period of time. A career .365 batter through three seasons, Huff holds the highest career batting average amongst players that played their entire career at the Division I level. Overall, the junior sits fifth all-time in program history. Four spots behind Huff, Fournet's .353 average is good for seventh in the history of the program.
Fournet's 29 doubles is good for fifth all-time as well, while also sitting third in Division I history.
Randolph's 1.85 ERA puts her fifth in FGCU history, however the left-hander holds the lowest ERA in Division I history.

SCOUTING THE OWLS
FAU has been without the services of All-American Kylee Hanson for the better part of the season but still the Owls are 25-15 in 2017 along with a 7-5 mark in Conference USA. In her absence, Amanda Wilson has won 10 games behind a 2.02 ERA while Tatum Buckley has posted a five-win season to go along with her 2.04 ERA.
Emily Lochten leads the way for the Owls at the plate, hitting .439 with 15 home runs and 32 RBIs. Lochten also presents a threat on the bases with 28 stolen bases. Along with Lochten, FAU also puts Madisyn Palmer in motion. Palmer has swiped 26 bases this year thanks in part to her .328 average at the plate.
FGCU and FAU have split the previous six games of the all-time series. The Eagles earned victories in the first three matchups, but the Owls have since won three-straight including a doubleheader last season in Boca Raton.
UP NEXT
The Eagles have the weekend off before travelling to Miami to face FIU and continuing conference play at Kennesaw State the following weekend.
