THE GREEN AND BLUE
> The Dolphins are one of only two ASUN teams to have ever beaten the Eagles in ASUN Championship history.

> The Eagles defense held North Florida to just 42 points in the quarterfinal round of this year's Championship. Since the 2013-14 season, FGCU has held six opponents to 50 points or less in ASUN Championship play.

> FGCU split the regular season with the Dolphins, earning a 60-57 home win before falling 73-65 in Jacksonville.

> The Eagles collected their 400th win as a program against USC Upstate on Feb. 18.

> Since transitioning to Division I in 2007, the Eagles hold a record of 88-21 over teams from the state of Florida.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
> The Dolphins scored 91 points in the opening round of the 2017 ASUN Championship. That mark was the most points the Dolphins have scored in an ASUN Championship game in program history.

>  The victory against No. 6 Lipscomb in the opening round was the team's 14th win in ASUN Championship history. That ties the Dolphins with FGCU for second most among current league members.

>  The Dolphins are the only ASUN team to defeat FGCU in two consecutive seasons. They won the 2016 ASUN Final at Alico Arena, and in this year's win at home shot a season-high 63.4 percent from floor.

> Jacksonville's Sherranda Reddick and Christin Mercer were honored as First Team All-Conference picks this season, and were the first Dolphin duo to receive the honor since 2007-08.

KEY PLAYERS
4 Brandi Buie - Buie scored the game-winning basket with three seconds remaining to capture a 56-54 victory over the Eagles in last year's ASUN Championship.

15 Kayla Gordon - Gordon pushed her career total rebounds to 700 with 13 in the opening round vs. Lipscomb. She pulled down 32 rebounds in two games vs. FGCU this year, including 20 in last game at Alico Arena.

22 Sherranda Reddick - Reddick leads the ASUN in scoring at 16.8 points per game. She has recorded the most 20-point games of any league player this year (11).

ASUN POSTSEASON AWARDS
Four Eagles garnered ASUN Postseason Awards this season, as announced by the league on Thursday. Rosemarie Julien (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast HS/Chipola College) was named ASUN Newcomer of Year, while Jordin Alexander (Fisher, Ind./ Hamilton Southeastern HS/Brown) was placed on the Second Team and Tytionia Adderly (Jupiter, Fla./Cardinal Newman) earned All-Freshman accolades.

Taylor Gradinjan (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy HS) was recognized for her achievements on and off the court as a member of the eight-person ASUN All-Academic Team.

#RAININGTHREES
The team's moniker Raining Threes isn't just for show. FGCU has made an incredible 4,383 3-pointers in 15 seasons for an average of 9.0 per game. The Eagles are riding a 367-game streak with at least one three ball and have made a long-range shot in 482 of 483 games in program history.

PROTECTING THE NEST
Alico Arena stands as the second-toughest place to play in all of NCAA Division I women's basketball. The first: UConn's Gampel Pavilion.

The Eagles hold a record of 148-12 at home since making the jump to Division I in 2007-08 and have won 85 out of 87 ASUN games with the home crowd behind them.

ASUN LEADERS
This season the Eagles are leading the ASUN in scoring offense (72.2) scoring defense (55.3 pg), assists (15.0 pg), FG made (829), 3pt FG made (315), 3pt FGs per game (9.8) and turnover margin (6.97).

ASUN SUCCESS
The Eagles joined the ASUN for the 2007-08 season and immediately saw success among the conference ranks. The team has won six-straight regular-season championships with a record of 110-5 over that span. The Eagles have won seven total regular-season championships and have never finished lower than second in the final conference standings. FGCU holds a record of 158-15 all-time in conference games and maintains a 95-3 record in ASUN games played at Alico Arena (including postseason). Since earning postseason eligibility during the 2011-12 season, the Eagles have won three of four ASUN Tournament Championships.

SMESKO'S OFFENSE
The Eagles run a motion offense with five equal parts constantly moving to create the best shots. Don't be surprised to see five 'G's in the starting lineup as 11 of the team's 15 players are listed as guards.

THREES IN 2016-17
The Eagles have made the third most three-pointers in the NCAA so far this season with 315 in 32 games. Their average of 9.8 per contest ranks fifth in the nation.

THE LAST TIME OUT - (ASUN Quarterfinals vs. UNF 3/3)
The FGCU women's basketball team overcame an uncharacteristically slow start to top North Florida 59-42 in the ASUN Tournament Quarterfinals at Alico Arena. The victory advances the Eagles to the semifinal round, where they will host third-seeded Jacksonville.

After shooting 5-of-28 from the field for just 18 first-half points, No. 2 FGCU exploded in the second half with 41 points off a 51.9 percent shooting performance en route to a 17-point victory over the seventh-seeded Ospreys.

Senior transfer Alexander played a large role in the comeback with 10 second-half points. She finished with a team-leading 14, while Rosemarie Julien and Erica Nelson each added 11.

Defense is undoubtedly what helped FGCU stay in the game early, despite such a poor shooting performance. As usual, Adderly led the Eagles with 12 boards, including five offensive rebounds. Collectively, the Eagles recorded nine steals including three from China Dow.

SMESKO
Head coach Karl Smesko earned his sixth-consecutive ASUN Coach of the Year award with a successful 2015-16 campaign and was named the espnW Mid-Major Coach of the Year. Under his direction, the team has compiled two-straight 30-win seasons with four perfect ASUN regular-season slates in the last five years. The team earned its first top-25 ranking and a third NCAA Tournament appearance as a seven seed in 2014-15 where FGCU won its first ever DI NCAA Tournament game against No. 10 Oklahoma State. With 30 wins and counting this year, Smesko has guided the Eagles to 12-straight 20 win seasons.  He maintains a record of 402-81 at FGCU for a win percentage of 82.8 with a mark of 158-15 (91.3 W%) in ASUN contests and has led the team to a 95-3 (96.9 W%) record in conference play in the last five seasons.  The six-time ASUN Coach of the Year earned his 400th career win in 2014-15 in just 493 career games, two games faster than UConn's Geno Auriemma, and holds a career record of 463-108 (81.1 W%).  Smesko ranks among an elite list of just four active Division I coaches with a career win percentage of .800 or higher, joining Auriemma, Baylor's Kim Mulkey and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer in the esteemed group.
