FORT MYERS, Fla. '" The Florida Gulf Coast University women'™s basketball team continued their record scoring pace as they ran away from an out-manned University of Puerto Rico '" Cayey 109-34 in NCAA Division II South Region action at Alico Arena Tuesday night.
Four players scored in double figures and 11 players scored in all as FGCU topped the single-game mark for points in a game set last Saturday night in the home opener.

Jen Conely poured in a game-high 36 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor and 6-of-6 shooting from the foul line. Conely, who hit a record eight three-pointers in the game, fell two points shy of the school record for points in a single-game set last year by former Eagles standout
Andrea Clarke.

Shonna Soeby had 14 points while freshman forward
Candace Carreras added 13 points off the bench for FGCU (3-0), which scored 56 points off Cayey turnovers. Junior forwards
Alex Nelson and Katie Schrader added 10 points each.
Puerto Rico-Cayey (0-5) was led by eight points apiece from Jazmin Lebron and Nancy DeArmas.
The two teams meet again Wednesday at 5 p.m.
