ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. '" The Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball team won their 20th match of the season with a 3-1 win over Flagler College (30-18, 22-30, 30-18, 30-20) on Saturday.
FGCU improved to 20-4 in their inaugural season. Flagler dropped to 14-7.
Three players posted double figures in kills for the Eagles, who won their sixth consecutive match. Freshman hitter
Brooke Youngquist (Fort Myers) led the way with 13 kills while senior middle blocker
Kristy Hartley (Naples) added 12 kills. Junior middle blocker
Devon Watts (Somerville, TX) posted her seventh double-double on the season with 10 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore setter
Laura Manovill (Dunedin) dished out 48 assists. Freshman
Whitney Hendry (Fort Myers) had a team-high 19 digs.
The Eagles held the Saints to a (.119) attack percentage over four games.
After eight straight road matches, the Eagles return to Alico Arena to host Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
