MELBOURNE, Fla. '" The Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball team won its fifth straight match with a three-game sweep of Florida Tech (30-20, 30-17, and 30-14) on Friday night.
The Eagles held the Panthers to a (-.018) attack percentage and posted seven team blocks to improve their record to 19-4 on the season. Florida Tech drops to 2-15.
Florida Gulf Coast was led by junior middle blocker
Devon Watts (Somerville, TX) with 10 kills.
Senior middle blocker
Kristy Hartley Naples) added eight kills. Sophomore setter
Laura Manovill (Dunedin) dished out 28 assists for the Eagles, and freshmen
Heather Van Olst (Loxahatchee) added 10 digs. Van Olst and Watts added three service aces each.
The Eagles play at Flagler College in St. Augustine at 2 p.m. Saturday.
