Tayla Young began her role as the Compliance Coordinator at Florida Gulf Coast University's Athletic Department in February 2024. Young helps manage day-to-day athletic compliance for FGCU’s 15 varsity sports, ensuring that the department aligns with NCAA bylaws. 
 
Prior to her current position, Young was a Compliance Graduate Assistant in the Minot State University Athletic Department where she gained invaluable experience in NCAA Division 2 Compliance and student-athlete support. Before moving to Minot, ND, Young was an undergraduate student at High Point University, where she was also a student manager on the Women’s Basketball team for four years and had the opportunity to watch the Panthers win a conference championship in 2021. Along with a host of sports internships and volunteer opportunities, this is where she developed her love of working in college athletics.
 
A native of Gastonia, NC, Young earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from High Point University in 2022 and is finishing up her Master of Science in Sports Management from Minot State University, which she will obtain in May 2024.
