Ryan Chlebek

Ryan Chlebek joined FGCU men’s basketball in May 2025 and serves as an assistant coach.

At FGCU, he assists & runs skill development workouts, helps with recruiting and scouting reports, as well as other duties assigned by head coach Pat Chambers.

Prior to FGCU, Chlebek had a short stint at Palm Beach Atlantic University serving as the lead assistant coach in 2025.

Before PBA, Chlebek served as an assistant coach at Florida College while achieving a 28-5 record in 2024. The Falcons were crowned CAC conference champions and made the second round of the national tournament. Chlebek recruited several incoming players at Florida College, most noticeably, NAIA All American - Tyshon Judge and All Conference Nominee Deonte’ Martinez.  

Prior to Florida College, Chlebek was an assistant at Ave Maria University. In his four seasons, the Gyrenes stacked 3 straight twenty win seasons. Chlebek recruited several all-conference nominees as well as an NAIA All American, Eric Klekas.  At each of Chlebek's previous stops, he oversaw the recruiting, scouting and player development while being a part of over 100 wins as an assistant coach at the small college level. 

A Naples, Florida, native, Chlebek comes from a rich family history of NCAA Division I college coaches. His grandfather, Ed Chlebek, was the head football coach at Boston College, Eastern Michigan, and Kent State, and an assistant coach at Notre Dame. His father, Mark Chlebek was an assistant coach at Colorado, while his uncle, Matt Chlebek was an assistant basketball coach at Florida A&M. He and his brother, Will, are both on the FGCU staff.
