Andy Seeley joined FGCU Athletics as Associate Athletics Director for External Relations in October 2025 and serves as the department’s leader for all external operations. In this role, he oversees strategic communications, marketing, creative services, social media and broadcasting, while guiding the overall brand strategy for FGCU Athletics and enhancing the fan experience for Eagle programs.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Seeley served as Director of Team Communications for the United Football League, where he contributed to league communications strategy and storytelling at the professional level for three years.
Before his time in professional football, Seeley spent three years at Florida Atlantic University as Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. He led all external outreach functions for FAU’s 19-sport program, overseeing communications, marketing, creative content, social media, sponsorship activation and multimedia rights. During his tenure, he helped elevate the Owls’ brand, established a dedicated creative content unit, significantly increased digital engagement, strengthened corporate partnerships and contributed to major fundraising successes, while also serving as the department’s primary spokesperson and playing a key role in securing a new multimedia rights agreement.
In 2019, Seeley served as Associate Commissioner for External Communications Strategy for the Mountain West Conference, directing all external communications and branding initiatives for the 12-member league. He served as the conference’s primary spokesperson and led the launch of the “At The Peak” branding campaign, helping unify messaging and enhance national visibility.
Seeley previously spent seven years at University of Central Florida as Associate Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications. There, he oversaw communications, public relations and brand management for all 16 varsity programs, served on the senior staff and managed a team of communications professionals. He also served as the primary football communications contact from 2016–19, helping guide messaging during the most successful stretch in program history.
Earlier in his career, Seeley held communications roles at the University of Minnesota and the University of Utah, working with football and other high-profile programs. He began his collegiate athletics career at his alma mater, Northwest Missouri State University, where he served as Director of Athletic Communications and supported multiple championship-caliber teams, including football national titles in 1998 and 1999.
Seeley also gained early career experience as Sports Information Director for USA Roller Sports and as a member of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, assisting with media operations during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
A respected leader in the industry, Seeley is an active member of College Sports Communicators, where he served a five-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors and as President from 2016–17.
