Andrew Knueven

Andrew Knueven joined FGCU as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in June 2026, working primarily with Women’s Basketball.
 
Knueven came to FGCU from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE), where he served as Director of Basketball Performance for the men’s and women’s Basketball programs from 2023-26. In this capacity, he guided the 2024-25 men’s basketball team to the school's first-ever Ohio Valley Conference Championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance.  

Prior to SIUE, Knueven served as an Intern Sports Performance Coach at the University of Texas for women’s basketball, volleyball, rowing, and swim & dive. In this role, he assisted in the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the 2022-23 Big 12 regular season champion women’s basketball team as well as the 2022 national champion volleyball and rowing programs.
 
Knueven is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Performance & Sport Scientist (CPSS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). 
 
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Cincinnati (2021) and a Master’s in Kinesiology from the University of Texas (2023).
 
Prior to his career in Strength and Conditioning, Knueven served as a Marine Infantryman from 2014 to 2018.  He and his wife, Natalie, have been married since 2023.
