Reid Barnett is in his fourth year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at FGCU, after being hired in July 2019.
Barnett came to FGCU after serving as the director of player development/strength and conditioning coach at Oklahoma State from 2018-19. He helped design and implement strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes in conjunction to working with the sports performance and medical staff to enhance individual and team potential.
Prior to his director role, Barnett served as the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach with Oklahoma State from August 2015 to June 2018. He worked directly with OSU’s equestrian, baseball, wrestling, men’s basketball and men’s golf programs.
Barnett was a student-athlete at both Western Oklahoma State and Oklahoma State from 2011-14. In his first two seasons, he was a key pitcher on a staff that won a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II national title among two national championship game appearances. After earning his associate degree, he went on to pitch with the Cowboys, earning Big 12 Honor Roll and OSU Athlete Academic Excellence awards in both seasons.
Barnett earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 2014 and a master’s degree in exercise science in 2016 - both from Oklahoma State.
Reid and his wife Kiley have one child, Freya.
