Martina Frantova completed her second season with FGCU at the end of the 2019 season.
The 2020 season saw the Eagles produce a 5-7 overall record as they went 1-0 in conference play before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her first season coaching the Eagles, the squad finished 11-10 overall record, going 4-3 in conference play. FGCU received its first ITA top-50 ranking during the regular season as the squad was dubbed 50th. Following a win over host Stetson, the Eagles mounted a historic comeback in the ASUN Tournament semifinals to head in the finals. Liberty took a 3-0 lead before the Green and Blue stormed back to win, 4-3. FGCU eventually fell to UNF in the finals in what proved to be a nail-biting 4-3 battle.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Frantova was a two-time All-ACC selection at NC state (2016-2017). In her junior season (2016) with the Wolfpack, she defeated 11 nationally-ranked players while playing the No. 1 singles and doubles positions throughout the season. She wrapped up the year being named to the ACC Second Team while going on to earn a bid into the NCAA Singles Championship.
In her final season (2017), Frantova was named once again to the ACC Second Team. She produced a stellar year in doubles competition as with her teammate Anna Rodgers (No. 12 ITA Doubles) as the tandem earned 23 doubles wins en route to qualifying for the NCAA Doubles Championship where they reached the round of 16. In singles play, she registered 12 victories and defeated six ranked opponents.
Before arriving to NC State, Frantova played one season at Mississippi State. She went 13-11 in singles and boasted a 14-12 doubles record.
Frantova is a native of Bratislava, Slovakia.
