Jack Murray joined the Eagles men's coaching staff in October 2024. Murray previously coached at Michigan State in 2018-19 and at his alma mater, UNC, in 2019-20 as a volunteer assistant coach. In the COVID-shortened 2020 season in Chapel Hill, Murray was part of the coaching staff that saw Simon Soendergaard and Mac Kiger win the ITA Regional doubles title before falling in the indoor national semifinals. The spring slate has the Tar Heels at 12-1 having only lost seven points before the season was canceled.
Murray is an accomplished player. He was a four year starter at UNC, racking up 199Â combined wins in singles and doubles, en route to All-American honors in 2016. Murray knows what it means to be successful as a player on the courts as part of the first team in UNC history to win the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in 2016. As a player with the Tar Heels, Murray was part of three team elite eights and one team final at the NCAA Championships.
