Alyssa is in her third year at FGCU, working as the Athletic Trainer for the women's basketball team and men's and women's tennis programs.

As an undergraduate, she attended McDaniel College and received a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Physical Education.  Her minors were Sports Coaching and Athletic Training.  While at McDaniel College, Alyssa was on the swim team for four years.  She also attended graduate school at the University of Arkansas, with a Master of Athletic Training.

While she was in graduate school she had the opportunity to work on various research projects focusing on identification of scapular dyskinesis in athletic training programs, landing strategies and effective intervention programs, and the mechanics of baseball and softball throwing. Alyssa has presented research national at the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting and internationally at the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association Conference.   

Her clinical experiences include McDaniel College-football (D III); University of Arkansas- Spring Football, Women’s Soccer, Softball, Men’s Basketball (DI); and Springdale High School (Springdale, AR). In Arkansas, Alyssa worked rotations with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and general medical physicians.  

A native of Gilbertsville, Pa., Alyssa is also a member of National Athletic Training Association (NATA).
