One of the best midfielders in FGCU history, Ali Rogers returned to Fort Myers to join Blankenship’s staff in 2018. After serving as the director of operations during the 2018 season, she was quickly promoted to an assistant coaching role in June 2019 and recruiting coordinator in 2021. She received another promotion to associate head coach in December 2022.
Rogers is in her fourth season at FGCU, and takes the lead in the recruiting efforts, helps to oversee the team’s defensive unit, player and team development, scouting reports, holds numerous budgetary responsibilities, and aids in designing and implementing coaching strategies.
In 2021, the Eagles held a 10-7-1 record against one of the nation's most demanding schedules, including Florida, South Florida, Tennessee, and #1 and eventual National Champion Florida State. In the ASUN, the Eagles went 7-2 and finished as the top team in the ASUN East Division. Rogers working alongside with the defensive group, the Eagles allowed the fewest number of goals in the ASUN and finished the year with seven shutouts. Six Eagles received ASUN All-Conference Honors for the 2021 Season. Louise Lillback received ASUN Player of the Year; All ASUN Frist Team members included Ashley Labbe, Kajsa Lang and Louise Lillback; Leah Scarpelli was named ASUN All-Conference Second Team. That quartet earned United Soccer Coaches All-South Region honors, with Lillback landing on the first team. Along with, Olivia Lindstedt and Rosa Horskjaer were named ASUN All-Freshman Team.
Despite COVID-19 pandemic challenges during the 2020-21 campaign, the Eagles captured an overall record of 7-3-2. And a 4-2 record in the ASUN. Six players earned spots on the ASUN All-Conference teams. Lang and Ashley Labbe were both named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Second Team, while Zoey Spitzer and Louise Lillback were called to the third team. Lang and Labbe were also named one of the Top 100 Freshmen in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
During her first season as an assistant coach, the Eagles captured the 2019 ASUN regular-season crown with an overall record of 11-4-2. In addition, they posted an astounding 9-1-1 mark at the FGCU Soccer Complex, marking the most victories the team had achieved at home since 2016. Rogers worked alongside with the ASUN Player of the Year (Evdokia Popadinova), a two-time All-American selection, and ASUN Defensive Player (Lindsey Patton). Fellow senior Marjorie Boilesen on the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region team.
A product of Naples, Fla., Rogers is no stranger to success within the ASUN Conference. During her playing career, she helped lead the Eagles to five ASUN regular-season championships, four ASUN Tournament titles, and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Eagles' historic 2-1 victory over USF in 2015 – the program's first NCAA Tournament victory. A former ASUN Tournament MVP, First Team All-ASUN selection and NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches Association) Third Team All-Southeast Region, she still ranks in the team’s record book in both goals (10th, 12) and game-winning goals (9th, five).
In addition to a wealth of knowledge that she developed as a collegiate soccer player, Rogers brings international experience to the table as she was on the 2018 roster for the KKPK Medyk Konin professional women's football club in Poland. In playing for Medyk Konin, founded in 1985 and is one of the top programs in its league, she became one of seven FGCU players who have gone on to play professionally.
Rogers currently holds her USSF "D" license and serves as the Director of Player Development on the Florida West F.C. staff.
A Canton, Massachusetts native, Rogers currently resides in Estero.
