was a starting center back for coach Marcelo Carrera at IMG Academies …helped the team to a first place finish in the CDL … also served as team captain for two seasons with FC Sarasota … named Defensive Player of the Year for IMG Academies … played all four seasons at defender at Lakewood Ranch.

Alexandra “Alex” Cardenas was born on September 16, 1993 … daughter of Carlos and Cristina Cardenas … has four siblings, Juliana (17), Gabriela (15), Nicolas (13), Lucas (6) … favorite athlete is Tobin Heath … chose FGCU because it has a great soccer team with welcoming coaches as well as players and the campus was beautiful … is a member of the National Honor Society, a junior leadership manatee alumni, on the Dean’s list during her senior year and was dual enrollment at the State College of Florida …intends to major in Health Sciences at FGCU.
