Former FGCU golfer Mei Khuan Yong will begin her first season as a volunteer assistant for the women's golf coaching staff in 2016. During her playing career with The Green and Blue she recorded a stroke average of 77.00

As a senior, Yong was named First-Team All-Conference and Atlantic Sun Scholar-Athlete of the Year with a 3.99 GPA. She led the team with a new program record stroke average of 75.29, which ranked fourth among all ASUN players. In the three-round ASUN Championship, Yong carded a 227 finishing among the league's top-10 golfers.

As a junior, Yong played 28 rounds in 18 events and led the Eagles with a scoring average of 77.04. She ended the season with rounds of 74,  72 and 79 at the ASUN Championship for an eighth place finish in the conference.

She  played in seven tournaments as a sophomore and posted an average of 79 in her 20 competitive rounds.

During her first season with The Green and Blue, Young competed in five tournaments and played 14 rounds with a stroke average of 78.14. She finished in the top-20 in three out of her five events. As a newcomer, Yong had her best scoring tournament in the spring at the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational (Mar. 17-19) by posting a 228 total (80-71-77). Her 1-under 71 in the second round was her lowest round of the year by five shots and represented the second-lowest round by any FGCU golfer.
