Career Overview (2012-16)
Atwater was named to the ASUN's All-Decade Team after a highly-successful career. In her three-year stint in the Green and Blue, she was a two-time First Team All-ASUN selection. She was also a three-time selection to the ASUN all-tournament team and a four-time conference player of the week, which is the fourth-best total in program history. In her NCAA career, which started at VCU, she produced 1,498 points, and she registered 1,312 of those in the Green and Blue. Her 26-point effort against Oklahoma State on March 21, 2015 was not only instrumental in leading FGCU to its first-ever Division I NCAA Tournament win, but it still ranks as the most points by an Eagle in an NCAA Tournament game. To this day, she also ranks among the top 10 in program's D-I era in total points, scoring average, field goals made, field goal percentage, rebounds, assists, steals and games started.
As A Senior (2015-16)Â
Earned Atlantic Sun First-Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season … twice named ASUN Player of the Week … finished second in the conference with 569 points on the season … her 569 points led the team and marked the third-most all-time in a single season by an Eagle … topped the team with 230 rebounds … became the university’s eighth 1,000 point scorer in a win at FIU (Nov. 23) … started all 39 games of the season averaging 32.3 minutes per game … scored 10 or more points in 29 games … had nine games with 20 points or more, fourth most in the ASUN … went on a streak where she posted double-digit points in eight consecutive games … recorded seven assists and three steals in the season opening victory at North Carolina A&T (Nov. 13) … tallied 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in the first game of Akron Classic Tournament vs. Ohio University (Nov. 20) … put up 19 points and added seven rebounds in a victory against Akron to close the Akron Classic Tournament (Nov. 21) … recorded her second career double-double in the win at George Washington (Dec. 3) scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds … amassed 27 puts and nine rebounds in the win vs. Harvard (Dec. 5) … recorded 25 points vs. Mississippi State during the first game of the Puerto Rico Classic tournament (Dec. 19) … posted a season-high 30 points in the victory over Western Michigan to wrap up the Puerto Rico Classic (Dec. 21) only one other player in the ASUN produced a 30-point performance this season … pulled down eight rebounds in the conference win vs. Stetson (Jan. 9) … scored 20 points in the conference win vs. NJIT (Jan. 18) … went 4-of-6 from the floor vs. NJIT (Feb. 13) for 13 points … recorded her third career double-double scoring 25 points and pulling down 14 rebounds during the victory vs. Stetson (Mar. 9) in the ASUN Women’s Basketball Championship tournament … amassed 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the win vs. Hofstra (Mar. 28) during the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) … scored 25 points vs. South Dakota (Apr. 4) in the WNIT to wrap up the season.
