Emory, a native of West Virginia, spent two seasons as an assistant coach with FGCU from 2004-06.
Emory was one of the most celebrated players in Liberty University history. The Big South Conference Player of the Year in 2000, she led the Flames to four consecutive conference championships and four NCAA Division I tournament appearances. Named to the Big South all-conference team for four straight years, Emory finished her career ranked in the top-5 in school history in 14 statistical categories. In addition to being the school’s career leader in steals, she ended her career as the second all-time leading scorer with 1,733 points. A 5-foot-6 point guard, she was inducted into the Liberty University Athletic Hall of Fame and had her jersey number retired in November 2001.
From 2001-2003, Emory was an assistant coach at West Caldwell High School in North Carolina. After winning just seven games prior to her arrival, the team won two straight conference championships, posted a 20-win season and advanced to the Elite 8 before losing to the eventual state champion.
