Dan MacLachlan served one season as a graduate assistant with the women's basketball program in 2002-03.
MacLachlan is a 2001 graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he was a three-year letterman in basketball. Â As a senior point guard, he averaged seven points, six assists and two steals per game. Most impressive was the fact that MacLachlan was a two-time academic all-conference member, earning a 3.9 GPA while getting his degree in business administration. At FGCU, he will be working on his master's degree in business with a concentration in finance.

Prior to attending Nova Southeastern, MacLachlan played one year at Oglethorpe University. Prior to that, he played four years of varsity basketball at Ridgewood High School, where he was a three year varsity starter and team captain. He was recently inducted into Ridgewood High's Athletic Hall of Fame, having finished his career as the school's all-time assist leader for a career, season and individual game.
