Jamie Kertes

Kertes joined the FGCU staff in 2017 following a two year stint at Stony Brook and is entering her third season as the pitching coach in 2019-20.

During her time with the Green and Blue, the pitching staff has finished in the top-16 of ERA, boasting a 1.93 (16th) mark in 2018, and 1.73 mark (11th) after the 2019 season All said, Kertes has coached three all-conference pitchers in her two years including the nations saves leader (Taylor Bauman-15) in 2018. In her two seasons, she has helped guide the Eagles to 61 wins, including a Division I program-record 39 in 2018.

Kertes was in a similar role at Stony Brook where she coached the Seawolves to the second-lowest ERA in the American East Conference. Originally from Carnegie, Penn., Kertes attended Bowling Green where she sits atop the record books in saves and in the top 10 in most major pitching categories.

She joined the Stony Brook staff in 2015 and immediately made an impact. During her time, Kertes coached two First Team All-Conference selections, three Pitchers of the Week and a Rookie of the Week in back-to-back weeks.

Her first season in Stony Brook produced a pair of memorable moments. On consecutive dates in April of 2016, Kertes coached Stony Brook pitcher Jane Sallen through two masterful performances, resulting in a pair of no-hitters.

The success did not stop there, as a pair of pitchers ended the season as two of the top five pitchers in the conference.

As a student-athlete, Kertes was a tremendous athlete herself at Bowling Green. Over her four-year career, Kertes started 111 games and struck out 512 batters, good for first and third at BGSU, respectively. Additionally, her 23 shutouts also sit third in program history.
