Jaime Edwards

Jaime Edwards joined the FGCU coaching staff in September of 2017 and will be entering her third season in 2019-20.

During her time with the Green and Blue, Edwards has helped guide the squad to 61 wins, including a Division I program-record 39 in 2018 as she's coached six all-conference infielders/outfielders. Most notably, shortstop Reedy Davenport who took home the 2019 ASUN Freshman of the Year.

Prior to arriving in Fort Myers, Edwards was a graduate assistant at West Texas A&M from 2015-2017. During that time, she was a member of the 2016 NFCA South Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year. That season, the Lady Buffs finished 59-5, winning Super Regionals and making an appearance in the Division II Spring Sports Festival – the equivalent of the Women's College World Series. Last year saw West Texas A&M once again make it to Regionals behind a 49-11 record.

"This is a tremendous opportunity and I can't thank Coach Deiros enough," Edwards said. "This is a highly successful program and I hope to be part of it taking the next step."

Edwards was one of the best fielders in Houston Cougar history, sitting fourth all-time in fielding percentage (.987), while holding career- and single-season marks for double plays turned (64, 24). In addition, Edwards was a three-time NFCA Academic All-American and a member of the 2012 Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

At the plate, Edwards hit .277 with 18 doubles and eight home runs while driving in 67 runs.
