Marcelo Tebet

The 2020-21 season will be Marcelo Tebet's first as an assistant coach, but fourth overall with head coach CJ Weber's program. A three-year standout with the Green & Blue, he joins Weber's staff after the COVID-19 pandemic suspended his senior season in the spring of 2020.

During his three-year playing career in Fort Myers, Tebet racked up over 60 combined wins between doubles and singles play and established himself as one of the team's most vocal leaders. One of the highlights of his illustrious career came during the 2019 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship, in which he clinched the overall title for the Eagles and sent the team on to the NCAA Tournament.

The Brazil native was the recipient of the 2020 ITA Southeast Regional Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award, as well as the ITA Southeast Regional Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award. In addition, the FGCU Athletics Department named Tebet a winner of the Carl McAloose Spirit Award. The award recognizes senior male and female athletes who best exemplify Carl McAloose's (FGCU's first Director of Athletics) spirit and love for FGCU Athletics, as well as dedication to their team and teammates.

Tebet graduated in the spring of 2020 with his bachelors degree in entrepreneurship.
