As a Senior (Spring 2021)
Competed in all three races for the Eagles... Opened the campaign pacing the Eagles at the UCF 8k Invite, placing 3rd overall with a time of 25:41.1... Placed 8th at the FGCU Invite with a 5k time of 16:01.6... Finished 46th at the ASUN Championship, clocking an 8k time of 28:00.1.

As A Junior (2019)
Placed 13th overall to open the season at the FAU Invite (8/30) with a time of 16:15.96... Finished eighth at the FGCU Invite (9/7) producing a mark of 27:18.00... Scored second for the Eagles at the Mt. Dew Invite (9/14) where he placed 27th (26:39.0)... Finished the regular season at the Live in Lou Classic (10/5) with a time of 25:26.00... Capped off the season at the ASUN Championship (11/2) with a time of 25:51.18 as he scored third for the Eagles placing 25th overall.

As A Sophomore (2018)
Opened his Eagle racing career at the FAU Invite (Aug. 31) etching a 5k time of 16:05.80 for a 12th place finish overall … Came in 23rd at the Fordham Fiasco (Sept. 8) with an 8k time of 27:21.17 … Came in 179th overall in the Paul Short Run with a season-best 8k time of 26:11 … Ended the regular season with an 8k time of 27:41.28 at the USF Invite (Oct. 12) … Clocked an 8k time of 26:43.0 for 34th overall at the ASUN Championship (Oct. 26).

Spring Track Season (2019)
5000m, 15:41.27- 24 second improvement, 1500m, 4:03.33. Both lifetime bests.

FAMU (2017-18)
During his one season with FAMU,  Mutai competed in four races with the cross country squad with his best outing coming in the South Carolina State Cross Country Duals where he clocked in an 8K time of 25:14.40, crossing the finish line fourth overall... Saw action with the track & field program competing anywhere from the 1500 and 10,000-meter events.
