Orin Bailey, Jr. joined the FGCU men's basketball program as an assistant coach just prior to the 2021-22 campaign. 
 
“We are excited about adding Orin to our staff,” said Fly. “He has already made an impact in recruiting in our program, and it my belief he will continue to do so. Coach Bailey brings years of experience as a teacher of the game at the high school level, and he will contribute to our staff and program in a variety of areas.” 
 
Bailey joined the Eagles after nearly 20-years as a youth basketball program director and educator in Houston, Texas. Since 2002, he served as the Director of the All 4 Sports Youth Basketball Program while also coaching at various schools in the Houston area.
 
As the program director for All 4 Sports, he served as head coach overseeing all basketball operations. He also directed the Texas Elite 8 Showcase Event and the Unsigned Senior Showcase Event for the past 11 years. All told, he has helped over 200 high school students receive college scholarships. 
 
In addition to his work in area schools and youth basketball, Bailey was also the head coach of the Lone Star Strikers of the IBL during the 2014 season.
