Dominic Morris

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Dominic Morris joined FGCU men’s basketball in June 2025 and serves as an assistant coach.

Prior to FGCU, Morris went from professional basketball to corporate America. He joined Webster Bank as a Portfolio Manager, where he managed a $2B+ client portfolio on a property management team. He became known for leading strategic planning sessions, building strong client relationships, and representing the bank at major industry events across the Northeast.

These experiences sharpened his skills in leadership, communication, and relationship-building — the same tools he now applies to recruiting, mentoring, and player development at FGCU.

Morris played professionally overseas for ten seasons, competing at the highest levels across Romania, Argentina, Switzerland, Ukraine, Belgium, France, Finland, and Israel. His journey culminated in a Swiss League Championship in 2021, cementing his status as a winner and veteran leader.

As a college basketball player, Morris played for now-FGCU head coach Pat Chambers at Boston University from 2010-2014. Playing alongside current FGCU assistant coach DJ Irving, he helped lift BU back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002, going head-to-head with Kansas in Tulsa.
A proven leader on the court, Morris earned Patriot League Honorable Mention & First Team (2014), America East Third Team (2013), America East All-Rookie Team (2011) and won the America East Championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament (2011).

A Penns Grove, N.J., native, Morris was raised in Newark, Delaware. Now back where his passion began, Morris brings a rare blend of Division I experience, international professional success, and corporate leadership to the Eagles’ bench. His journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and a relentless drive — qualities he instills daily in the next generation of student-athletes.
