Chase Goldstein Headshot 2016-17

Chase Goldstein

A former FGCU men’s basketball head manager and intern in the NBA, Chase Goldstein is in his 2nd year as the Assistant Coordinator of Operations for the FGCU men’s basketball team in 2017-18.

In his role, Goldstein assists with travel, room accommodations and other logistics associated with the team’s day-to-day operations. He also works with video to help break down and edit opponent game film as well as aiding in creating offensive and defensive personnel edits. He maintains FGCU’s video playbook, and also constructs NBA and collegiate video comparisons to help improve all of the team’s players.

In 2016-17, FGCU posted a 26-8 record, matching the program’s Division-I single-season wins record and securing the first single-digit loss campaign in the D-I era. The Eagles set a D-I program record for regular-season wins with 23, and finished the ASUN slate at 12-2 for a program-best .857 winning percentage.

Those 12 wins were enough for FGCU to claim its first outright ASUN regular-season title in program history (second overall; shared in 2013-14), and followed it up with a second-straight ASUN Tournament Championship. The Eagles played their sixth NCAA Tournament game in five seasons after receiving a program-best No. 14 seed and fell just short to No. 3 seed Florida State – the second-tallest team in the nation in 2016-17 – 86-80.

Goldstein graduated from FGCU with a degree in history in December of 2016. He was a manager for the program in 2012-13 before serving as the head manager from 2013-15 where he oversaw 10 student managers and assisted with player development and drill work.

In 2015-16, Goldstein was the Charlotte Hornets Video Coordinator Intern. In that role, he edited opponent clips, generated personnel for opponents’ offensive and defensive sets and made video edits for potential playoff matchups. Additionally, he assisted with player development under the tutelage of NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, working directly with Al Jefferson, Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nic Batum, among others.

Goldstein also previous worked at the Joe Dooley Basketball Camps, and also worked camps at Florida, Florida State, Miami and UCF.
