Granted extra year of eligibility because of COVID-19... Appeared in 13 games on the mound, making 10 starts... Finished the season with a 1-2 record, 7.62 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched... Allowed zero earned runs while striking out a season-high six in 6.1 innings pitched against Kansas, earning the win... Struck out five in 4.0 innings at Flroida State.

Established himself as one of the Eagles’ top arms during his rookie campaign … Threw I five different games, starting on the mound in three … His first collegiate appearance came on the road at Tulane (Feb. 16), where he tossed 3.1 innings, fanned five and allowed just two hits … Started the first game of his career against Eastern Michigan (Feb. 25) … Struck out four, allowed two hits and was charge with just one run during that start … Earned the first win of his collegiate career when he threw the final 5.2 frames of the 16-inning contest against Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 29) … Against the Wildcats, he fanned a career-best six batters, did not allow any hits and did not allow any runs to score … Finished the year with a 4.15 ERA, a 1-1 mark, and 16 punchouts through 17.1 innings.

Personal
Son of Angela de Leon … Has two siblings, Javi and Naty … Chose FGCU because it was one of his favorite schools and when he visited the campus it felt like home … Would like to meet Chris Sale because he has always looked up to him … Favorite sports moment was beating Calvary Christian on Law Enforcement Night … Has not decided a major yet.
