Malone received the Defensive Player of the Year honor after tallying a league-leading 60 blocks in the regular season. His 60 blocks were also the second-most blocks in a single season at FGCU. He had double the amount of games with 3+ blocks (ten) than with zero (five). He had at least one block in all but one ASUN game. He ranks 21st nationally in total blocks and 27th in blocks per game. His 9.9 block% ranks 15th nationally, per KenPom. He anchored FGCU’s conference-best 52.1% opponent 2-point% defense, also per KenPom. The Eagles also had a 13.2 block% in ASUN play, per KenPom. Malone averaged 10.3 points per game on 59.1%/47.6%/78.3% shooting splits. His 78.3% shooting at the free throw line is the ninth best mark in the ASUN. He grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game and had 14 double-digit games, including three 20-point games. All three of his 20-point games were in conference play; he scored in double digits in 10 of 18 ASUN games.
